Our theme for youth group this year is UNITED
United:Without Walls & United: Ecclesia
So what do we mean by United? Our desire is to be the church as God designed us to be. United. One body. One mind. One love. United in purpose and united in fellowship with Jesus.
With that understanding, our focus for the fall semester is to be United: Without Walls. We want to be a youth group without walls in two ways.
* First, our desire is that for those that come to our youth group there would be NO barriers for them to encounter Jesus.
*Second, and more importantly, our desire is that this youth group would not be bound by the walls of the physical church building. That means we exist as a body of believers and represent Jesus to the world not only when we gather together at church on Saturday night, but in our homes, our workplaces, and our schools.
Our focus for the spring semester is United: Ecclesia. Derived from the greek word ekklesia, meaning church or assembly, we want to understand this youth groups place in the body of Christ. That means not only our place as a part of the local church, Wheaton Chinese Alliance Church, but our place as a part of the Church. How do we fit in as a part of God's kingdom. One question to be asked is, "if we are a part of the body (both locally and universally) do we know what is going on with the rest of the body?" Our desire for the Spring semester is to explore what God is doing in His church and participate as members of one body with the rest of the Church.
